In Australia, you typically need a referral from a GP to receive a Medicare rebate. You can still book an appointment without a referral, however a rebate may not apply.
For new patients and new referrals, the consultation fee is $330, with a Medicare rebate of $86.15 available with a valid GP referral.
For existing patients returning under the same referral, the consultation fee is $230, with a Medicare rebate of $43.35.
Please note that additional treatments or procedures performed during your appointment may incur extra costs.
Please contact our clinic if you have any questions regarding fees, procedures, or eligibility for Medicare rebates.
Please bring your GP referral (if you have one), as this is required to be eligible for a Medicare rebate. It is also helpful to bring a list of any medications you are currently taking, as well as details of any previous treatments or relevant medical history. If you have copies of past test results or reports, please bring these along.
Please also bring along your Medicare card, as well as any Australian Government concession cards, including the Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) and Health Care Card (HCC).
For skin examinations, we recommend arriving with clean skin (free of makeup and nail polish where possible) to allow for a thorough assessment.
A GP referral is provided by your general practitioner and allows you to see a dermatologist as a specialist while being eligible for a Medicare rebate. GP referrals are typically valid for 12 months, unless your doctor specifies that it is indefinite.
A specialist referral is when another medical specialist refers you for further assessment or treatment. These referrals are usually valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
If you are unsure whether your referral is still valid, our team will be happy to assist.
We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the appointment time to another patient.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a cancellation fee. If you need to make any changes to your booking, please contact our clinic as soon as possible.
Yes, our team can assist you in submitting your Medicare claim at the time of your appointment. In most cases, claims are processed electronically, and your rebate is typically paid into your nominated bank account within 1–2 business days.
Private health insurance typically does not cover consultations with a dermatologist in an outpatient setting. However, if you undergo a procedure in hospital, part of the cost may be covered depending on your level of cover.
We recommend checking directly with your health fund to understand what you are eligible to claim.
Yes, there is free timed on-street parking available near our clinic for patients. Please allow extra time to find a spot during busy periods.
